Choosing the Right Skin Care for Your Age

As women enter different stages of their life, so does their skin. Choosing the right skin care products for your age will be important if you want to maintain a youthful, healthy look over time. The needs of someone in their 20s will be vastly different than the needs of someone in their 40s. If you start using the right products early you will have a glowing complexion for much longer. Here are some simple things you should consider when it comes to your personal skin care regime.

Skin Care In Your 20s

In your 20s your skin will be full and youthful. The biggest concerns you should have now will be protection from the sun and potential break outs. You won’t need a heavy foundation unless you want to cover a blemish. The best thing is to use a good moisturizer with a sunscreen in it daily. Use a gentle cleanser daily. If you have a problem with acne prone skin you should use a cleanser that has salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Don’t use these daily though as it will dry your skin. You can also use spot treatments in between cleansing to help clear up problem areas before they spread. It’s also not a bad time to start incorporating a vitamin B serum in your regime. If you smoke or drink, this is going to prevent free radical damage to the skin cells.

Skin Care In Your 30s and 40s

As you start to get older your needs will change. You may lose some of that youthful radiance and start to notice more discoloration and blemishes. By the time you hit 30 you should start to exfoliate a few times a week. This helps keep your skin fresh and will prolong that youthful radiance. Switching to a moisturizer that has antioxidants will also help maintain the elasticity of your skin. As you inch towards your 40s, you will want to add a collagen ingredient to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Consider using a cleanser in combination with a facial brush for a deeper exfoliation. If you take care of your skin while you are younger, maintaining the look will be easier as you age.
